Experienced Educational Leader
Dr. Kindra Smith has dedicated 29 years to education within the Fulton County School District, serving as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal at both elementary and middle school levels. Since 2019, she has led Riverwood International Charter School with distinction.
Academic and Athletic Excellence
A former collegiate athlete, Dr. Smith earned her undergraduate degree on a basketball scholarship from the University of North Alabama and was inducted into the school’s Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021. She holds advanced degrees in Educational Leadership, culminating in a doctorate from South Carolina State University.

While serving as Principal of Roswell North Elementary, Dr. Smith was named Fulton County’s Principal of the Year, recognized for her data-driven decision-making, commitment to teacher support, and meaningful engagement with the broader school community.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Smith successfully guided her school through unprecedented challenges. Under her leadership, Riverwood achieved a 2024 graduation rate of 98.5%—the second highest in the district.

Dr. Smith is a sought-after voice in education, delivering keynote addresses and working with districts to build structures that foster success for all students. Her work centers on equity, collaboration, and sustainable school improvement.
Personal Mission and Values
A Tennessee native now rooted in Georgia, Dr. Smith is driven by a mission to ensure every student and adult feels loved, supported, and motivated. Outside of education, she enjoys writing music, singing, and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons with her husband and two children.
